 TREKKING |
A trekking to know one of the most interesting Park in Italy, the only where bears, the biggest predators of our peninsula, still live. This land is the wildest and most uncontaminated place from the activities of human beings. Crossing secular beech woods, highlands, old “Tratturelli”, zones of Integral Reserve, we will observe the wild animals in their own habitat: the ethology of the Abruzzo Chamois, the roar of the Red Deer and, sleeping in refuges, we will look for the Marsican Brown Bear. Last year, during this trekking, we saw 4 bears! Not forgetting the delicious Abruzzo cooking and the good Montepulciano wine.

| PROGRAM |
| 1st day: Arrival to Pescasseroli in the afternoon. 18.00 meeting with the guide, transfer to Villetta Barrea, showing of the program, dinner and overnight stay. 2nd day: V. Barrea - Riserva Integrale della Camosciara - Civitella Alfedena first excursion to know the territory. Crossing Decontra wood and Camosciara Integral Reserve we will arrive to Ninfe and Tre Cannelle waterfalls and, going on, to Rifugio della Liscia. Coming back we will cross a part of the old “Tratturo” Pescasseroli-Candela, until the splendid village of Civitella Alfedena, we will come back to Villetta Barrea for the dinner. 3rd day: Val di Rose - Valico di Passo Cavuto – Forca Resuni – Valico Passaggio dell’Orso – Val Fondillo - Opi The most famous of the excursion in the Park: Val di Rose, characterized by the presence of the “Dog Rose” until Passo Cavuto (1942m). From the top enjoying the landscape, we will observe the Abruzzo Chamois.Coming back we will walk along Val Fondillo, famous for its suggestive springs. 4th day: Opi - Valle Fredda – Macchiarvana – M. Tranquillo - Creste della Rocca – Rifugio di Iorio An excursion to enter into the habitat of the Marsican Brown Bear, going up to Valle Fredda, until the meadow of Macchiarvana. From the Sanctuary of the black Madonna of Monte Tranquillo, we will trek on Creste, until Monte la Rocca (1942 m), the right place to look for bears. Arrive to Rifugio di Jorio , dinner band overnight stay. 5th day: Rifugio di Iorio - Monte di Schiena Cavallo – Fonte Puzza – Cicerana - Rifugio del Diavolo One of the most panoramic excursion in the Park. From here is possible to see Gran Sasso and Majella, the highest mountains in the Italian Apennine. We will go down to Sorgente Puzza, another good place to see many animals and than we will go on to the wild Vallone Lampazzo until the Rifugio del Diavolo. 6th day: Rifugio del Diavolo - Valle dell’Atessa - Valle di Terraegna - Valico del Carapale - Passo Godi - Scanno An interesting excursion on the geological point of view. Starting from the Refuge, we will go to Scanno, crossing Valico del Carapale (2000m). Visit of Scanno, famous for its medieval historical center and its Arab origins. Sleeping in hotel. 7th day: Passo Godi - Ferroio di Scanno - Valico della Corte – Vallone dello Schiappito – Pescasseroli Scanno-Pescasseroli. From Passo Godi, we will coast the old “stazzo” of Ziomass and the Integral Reserve of Valle Orsara, until arrive to the wide meadow of Valle di Corte ( 2000m). From here we will start to go down to Pescasseroli. 8th day: breakfast and departure |
