Week-end with the bear

Two days together looking for the Marsican Brown Bear, symbol of the Abruzzo National Park. We’ll sleep at Jorio’s Refuge at 1835 meters on sea level, placed in a panoramic point, between three valleys in the Park. We will try to sight bear in secular Difesa wood and monte Tranquillo Sanctuary at sunrise and sunset. We will enjoy the landscape, eating Abruzzo typical food for dinner and drinking “Montepulciano d’Abruzzo” red wine.

 15,00 o’clock at Pescasseroli, at Ecotur office. Excursion starting at 15.30

 At Jorio’s Refuge with bunk beds
Equipment

Trekking shoes, sun hut, sun glasses, trousers and shorts, plush, rucksack, water-bottle.

Something to bring

Binoculars and photo camera. It is necessary the torch light for the night excursion.

PROGRAM
1st day: meeting with the guide at 15,00 o’clock and excursion to Jorio’s Refuge, accommodation in the Refuge and new start to look for the bear. Rerturn to the refuge for dinner.
2nd day: Waking up at the sunrise, trying to see the bear. 8.30 breakfast and start for a panoramic excursion to Creste la Rocca, border between Abruzzo and Molise. Visit to the religious Sanctuary crossing the wide meadow  of Campo Rotondo
