Trip to enjoy the foliage, with lunch in hut

The foliage is the term which refers to the change of the leaves in autumn color. In some parts of the world, such as Canada or the United States, many hikers venture along the trails to admire these beautiful landscapes and forests painted in many colors. Even in Italy there are magical places in the Fall and one of these is the National Park of Abruzzo with its immense beech forests, rich in ancient trees. We will walk through Vallone Lampazzo- Cicerana area to admire the beautiful autumn scenery it offers. We will arrive at the Ecorifugio of Cicerana, where the heat of burning wood in the stove / fireplace, we will taste the typical autumn products.

Reserve / get information


Short transfer by car to the Passo del Diavolo. From there we start walking along the forests and grasslands of the Vallone Lampazzo-Cicerana until reaching at the Ecorifugio of Cicerana. Here we will consume our lunch made with local, seasonal products, and after lunch we will come back to Passo del Diavolo through another path. Return at about 16 hours.


Hiking shoes, long pants, backpack, hat and woolen gloves, waterproof jacket (possibly gore-tex), water bottle with water, camera.

How the reach us

Highway 24, Rome, Pescara branch to exit Pescina, continue to Pescasseroli. A Pescasseroli you can also get by train to Avezzano (line Rome - Pescara) and bus connection with Pescasseroli or directly by bus from Rome (Piazzale Tiburtina Soc. ARPA) For all those who come from the South, the arrival station is Castel di Sangro and then connecting bus to Pescasseroli.
