Forca d'Acero. Where trees touch the sky
Hike in the mythical forest of Forca d'Acero, pass between the side of the Park of Abruzzo and Lazio
Our route winds along the old border between the Kingdom of Naples and the Papal States, through dense forests of beech, and in a karst area, characterized by the presence of some caves, which in summer served as a den of robbers. The pass of Forca d'Acero was an important place of trade between Lazio and Abruzzo and here the robbers were making some of their raids. This tour aims nature, but also historical.
After taking a short drive up to the pass of Forca d'Acero (Everyone by its own car. Carsharing is not allowed), we will go down in the beech forest until you reach the large clearing Macchiarvana.
